Para iniciarmos nossa discussão acerca do tema, registro aqui algumas definições e depoimentos interessantes que me deparei enquanto relia minhas anotações feitas durante o Bilinglatam e pesquisava sobre o tema:
- Translingualism is a term from Kellman (2000) and Schwarzer et al. (2006), who see teaching L2 as a bridge between languages that allow one to retain a unified mind and not be cloven into two for the sake of being multilingual.
- Translingualism involves not only a language choice but also the transformation of linguistic and cultural identities, for their worldwiew was now being mediated through a new language. (Kellman, 2004)
- Translingualism involves from the mistery of first hearing a different tongue, the excitement of mastering a foreign language, the impact of a new language on the self of the speaker, the imperalism and its linguistic
legacy. (Kellman, 2004)
- Translingual education: To give students access to an education in English without diminishing their respect for their own or others (Huang, 2010).
Depoimentos extraídos do livro “The Genius of Language: Fifteen Writers Reflect on Their Mother Tongues” de Steven G. Kellman (2004) que relaciona esses escritores ao translingualismo.

Declarou o escritor Louis Begley, ainda lamentando a perda se uma língua materna, o polonês, quando sua família se mudou para os EUA aos 13 anos

Ha-yun Jung, que escreve ficção em inglês, mas recentemente retornou para seu país de origem, Coréia do Norte, e se sente incompleta tanto em inglês quanto em coreano.

Interesantisimo el tema. Yo lo estudio como parte de un curso en mi universidad en Israel. Lastima que no hay nada en espanol...
